Heat stroke

Ozzy suffers terribly in the heat but mercifully we don't have heat at the moment.

I know some stupid people think it is OK to leave a dog in a car in hot sun, although thankfully they are few and far between, but a car can overheat even when there is considerable cloud layer too, as the sun's rays still get through.

Yes, ADDY, you are right. The temperature in a car in full sun goes up to 50°C. Even with the windows open, the dog has no chance of survival. It takes between 10 and 20 minutes for the dog to slowly suffocate.

A little sunshine would be welcome...

Imagine on a warm day you return to your car after popping into Delhaize and find your dog dead.Of course,a worse fate of bad judgement would be the suffocation of a child. Under no circumstances should the possibility of heat stoke be underestimated on warm days.

Thanks for your comments on such an important issue.
